55 Fiction # 27 - First Love

Could never have had enough, but it was time to make a call. To do or not to do was the question that kept oscillating in her mind freaking her out. After maneuvering her mind for long hours she could finally come to terms with it and decided to return the book to the library.

55 Fiction # 26 ~ Thrifty

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's.  Today's word is "T".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”.  Today I chose “Thrifty”.

"Bought a bottle of water for Rs.20 he happily quenched thirst. Months later he readily paid Rs.100 for it. A year after hopping shops he finally found one and had to offer Rs.500 for same bottle. Couple of years later even Rs.10,000 could not fetch him one, he realized being thrifty would have been wise."

~ KARAN
We have to come to realize that even money can’t buy everything, you may millions with you but the resources are limited. One has to be wise and cunning in using them or should I say wasting them in case of water.

55 Fiction # 25 ~ Nonjudgmental

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's. Today's word is "N".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”.  Today I chose “Nonjudgmental”.

"Observing them for a long time, he said, “Don’t mind, since last hour your teenage son is not able to say a single sentence without a stutter, why don’t you take him to a doctor. The father turned around and calmly replied, just got his vocals operated, today is his 5th day at speech therapy."

~ KARAN

This is a very simple thing that if we keep in mind saves us lot of embarrassment and also keeps away any negativity. One should never be judgmental about others as you don’t know on what ground they stand. An obese man may have been facing the side-effect of some medications and therefore it is not wise to assume and make a judgment about him that he is so unfit and must always be binging upon junk food being careless about his health.

55 Fiction # 24 ~ Modest

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's.  Today's word is "M".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”.  Today I chose “Modest”.

Looking barbarously towards the crippled man he stood there impatiently waiting for the train during the rush hour traffic showing off his chiseled body covered in designer wear. He geared himself to make way in through the herd of people. The crippled man smiled at his (im)modesty as he easily entered the empty handicap compartment.

~ KARAN

Rather than being proud, be grateful and thankful of what the almighty has bestowed us with. Also be modest and kind towards the unfortunate ones.

55 Fiction # 28 ~ Fearful

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's. Today's word is "F".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”. Today I chose “Fearful”.

Failure is meant to be,
Failure is for real,
Far away from success I may be,
But I have no fear,
Falling over and over again,
I will get up with a gain,
With strength to steer,
My instinct stands clear,
Stopping me in my stride, I don’t see,
Failure would not bother me!

~ KARAN

Failure is the first and biggest impediment to any initiative that you want to succeed in. On the contrary we should make it as a stepping stone to success by taking it in our stride and incorporating the learning’s in urge to succeed.

55 Fiction # 22 ~ Esthetic

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's. Today's word is "E".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”. Today I chose “Esthetic”.

Wanting to plan something grand and different for her birthday, placing the bread-loaf cake on scarf over the table, he lit entire room with candles.
Entering the house she was overwhelmed oblivious to the peeling walls and disconnected electricity, as he sang the birthday song. Mesmerized she welled-up by his esthetics in idea and action.

 ~ KARAN

It’s a universal belief that only people with deep pockets, bigger house, costly furniture, shiny cars so on and so forth are the ones who can live life king size and have esthetic sense of doing up their houses. However esthetics is on ones ideas and our action to back the same.

Don’t dream for Moon,
It isn’t yours,
you ain’t rich,
You don’t have boon

I have talent and wit,
Dare to dream I am fit,
Will prove it,

If not moon, will have the stars,
It’s only for the rich, is just a farce,
All I need is intent and opportunity,
Neither fortune nor pity.

~ KARAN

From the Polyester Prince to the Missile Man of India to the famous King of Bollywood to the Superstar down South and numerous more have one thing in common that they have proved to the world - “Dare to Dream and Care to Achieve”. They have shown the world that it’s never really the lack resources or fortune but the lack of intent and clarity in purpose that hinders one from achieving their dreams.

55 Fiction # 20 ~ Compatible

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's.  Today's word is "C".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”.  Today I chose “Compatible”.

Holding hand in hand,
Together they walked the aisle,
Proclaiming vows,
They promised to include,
Faults and perfection without a feud,
One thing they found true,
Vibes felt were love that brew,
In while they knew,
Years gone by, once again they vowed,
In her inability to conceive they claimed,
She was (In)Compatible they proclaimed!

~ KARAN

We have come to believe that in this progressive world of ours, gender equality has gained momentum and with women occupying highest positions across verticals and spheres it all hunky dory. However the staunch reality is even today even in educated middle class families, it’s the woman who is blamed for inability to bear the child without even trying to ascertain that it can be a problem with the man. Having said that it is just one amongst many things that the fairer sex still faces in our so called progressive society.

55 Fiction # 19 ~ Boastful

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's. Today's word is "B".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”. Today I chose “Boastful”.

Budding player, putting in hard hours, to excel at any cost, demeaned at every opportunity, by the coach not fond of her.
Neither you possess forehand of Supriya nor backhand like Taniya. Sharapovas and Williams of the academy, the ones you should boast of, shouldn’t you?
Thyself I am boastful of, pat came her reply.

~ KARAN

Being boastful about one’s own self isn’t always necessarily being arrogant. Loving yourself even with your shortcomings is the most important thing in life. As RasheedOgunlaru says “There's no alternative to being yourself. Accept it, honour it, value it - and get on with it.”

55 Fiction # 18 ~ Acceptance

I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z barring Sunday's. Today's word is "A".

My theme is “Human Characteristics”.   Today I choose “Acceptance”.

They were meeting after long months, not a word spoken in between.
Anxious and flurried she held on, with twitching stomach and trembling hands, a piece of paper she gave him.
“Its over” - loud clear it read,
Flipping it around he scribbled something and returned it back
“I Accept” it said

                          ~ KARAN
Acceptance they say shows a lot of character of a person. It’s always sensible to accept things as they come and move on in life, which will always bring solace and happiness to us. However it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
