My Thoughts
Having read is other book about banking and
the finesse with which the intricacies of the banking world are explained by
him therein I was not really very sure what to expect in this one. But he has
with equal aplomb drawn out the murkiness in the literary industry and the
undercurrents of wannabe authors who want to make it big in the industry but
don’t really know how.
For me his books have always been free
flowing and simple writing so easy to connect. This is a story where everything
from the characters, plot to the climax is well fleshed out. Not once do you
think that it has been dragged, barring a few places where the change of scenes
and abrupt end to a part leaves an incomplete feeling.
Once a few initial chapters are done you
just don’t feel like keeping it down. It just doesn’t let you. I completed it
in one night straight - not to mention it would have been done in 4 to 5 hours
had the night not started at 1 AM.
Several dialogues will remain etched in
your memory for a long time to come and also it will instinctively leave you
wondering whether it is a real person that you are reading about. The story the
plot is so reality driven that you just stop a step from naming a person’s name
you think the character is. It is that relative.
The climax may not have been predictable
but can’t say it was not an expected one except for the culprits. You may not
actually think the turn of events will let you to them eventually.
I would surely recommend this book for it
takes you on a behind the stage life of authors and undercurrents of the
literary industry. One can embark upon the journey of being an author through
this book. So the aspirants should grab a copy immediately, while others will
have fun knowing the nuances.
Fruit Verdict
It has various traits of
love, hatred, betrayal, lust, desire all wrapped, just like a
bowl of mix berries.
