Today at the station
I saw a beautiful girl,
playing with her curl
when suddenly to catch the
train,
she rose,
she hobbled, had crutches, was
in pain,
still to walk alone she chose,
but as she walked the aisle,
she still wore a smile J

On the weekend movie outing
This boy selling candies
was standing outside,
I talk to him, ask him why doesn’t
he go inside,
he thanked me for asking and
being so kind,
you see, he said - I am
blind

On my way back home
I notice a familiar couple,
very animated they seemed
I knew there was trouble,
with her back towards me
she was trying her best,
to calm his nerves & put it
to rest,
I wondered,
why doesn’t she talk to him
& get it clear,
Ohh!! I forgot he couldn’t hear
L
In the bed that night,
all that flashed before my
sight,
to God, I asked forgiveness
for I have it all right,
my eyes, my ears,
also I can walk upright,
still I always cried
Truth is Stranger than Fiction
today I realized,
I promised him,
now I’ll never whine,
I’ll cherish all that is
mine !!!

ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly, I'd written a comment here last night. Since, I can't see it now--am posting again.
ReplyDeleteKaran, this is such a poignant piece of writing. we all tend to lack appreciation for the blessings we have in our lives. That's a strong reminder. Thank Him ever night for small blessings!
it feels so gud to get encouraging comments from you and it was gr8 i gt it twice as i was late to approve :) :D
DeleteThat was a peep into the reality Karan . Its indeed brave how people who are disabled , gradually , return back to their life like nothing ever happened to them . They must be pacifying themselves so that they wouldnt be of burden to their family . Kudos to their courage ! Very well put across :)
ReplyDeletewelcome to my blog Maliny...keep dropping by :)
Deleteyes we must really salute their courage but shud make sure we dont act indifferent towards them and make them feel helpless...rather we shud make sure they feel normal and accepted and wanted
Very true - people who are have everywhing - value nothing.
ReplyDeleteIt takes efforts to appreciate - daily life and simple happenings around us. We tend to undervalue the simplest pleasures.
welcome to scribble Vijyoma...glad to have u here :)
DeleteVery true! More often than not, we choose to complain about our misfortunes than count our blessings and be thankful for them.

Wow...The the swing of tulips I sensed while reading the poem..Pure flow of love flowed with sense of thoughts.. Its psychological to human beings to be unhappy even though we get satisfiable acts..Though-provoking post...ATB for BAT 37
