My theme is “Human Characteristics”. Today
I chose “Compatible”.
Holding hand in hand,
Together they walked the aisle,
Proclaiming vows,
They promised to include,
Faults and perfection without a feud,
One thing they found true,
Vibes felt were love that brew,
In while they knew,
Years gone by, once again they vowed,
In her inability to conceive they claimed,
She was (In)Compatible they proclaimed!

We have come to believe that in this
progressive world of ours, gender equality has gained momentum and with women occupying
highest positions across verticals and spheres it all hunky dory. However the staunch
reality is even today even in educated middle class families, it’s the woman
who is blamed for inability to bear the child without even trying to ascertain that
it can be a problem with the man. Having said that it is just one amongst many things
that the fairer sex still faces in our so called progressive society.
