Book Review ~ Collection of Chaos by Tikuli

Poetry is only form of writing which I feel that in essence can convey and explain lot many complex things with a lot of ease and simplicity.

Blurb

(From the foreword by Kris Saknussemm) As with all the poets I most admire, words are living things for Tikuli. But as you will come to discover, they are never deployed for their own sake. She uses them to tell stories. The images, scenes, characters and fragments of visionary empathy that you will find in this book are all rooted in her native India-and yet they reach out far beyond national and cultural boundaries. They do so because they have an interior cohesion of spirit. Her subjects are often the dispossessed, the lost...the abused. There are undercurrents of sorrow and anger. And yet love shines through, even when it seems to be fading away. Above all, there's a powerful sense of hope at work-a conviction in the redemptive strength of poetry.

My Thoughts

People who know me will know that I am a poet at heart, poetry and rhymes run through my veins. All my writings will always have some rhyme and rhythm, even the most prosaic ones.

I was very excited to read this book when I came to know the author has experimented with different forms of poems in a single book. I was not a least bit disappointed except that the prize is tad on a higher side and that may put it off some prospective buyers.

Nevertheless this is an excellent collection of poems and must recommended for ones like me who are love with poetry.

The author brings a fresh lease of writing; at times is bold, audacious and straight. The poems are very poignant, unconventional. It tells you about the clarity of thoughts and that shows maturity in the writings.

Here the author has summed it up all well the central idea of the book (the highly volatile human mind) through the poems at the start of the book:

“Poems dwell in
the possibilities
&
the impossibilities
of the
mind”

Fruit Verdict

This book is like a bun cog grapes, each has it peculiar taste but in totality they give you an experience that will stay with you for a long time.
