Mother

As a part of the Write Tribe Festival of Words which kickstarts on September 1 and will go on till September 7, I am writing about the 7 relations in my life, without even one of them my life would lose its meaning. These seven people are very dear to me and I hold them very close.

Mother -

The person of paramount importance for me in this universe. She is the one who is my creator and not the almighty. She is the one who is made me what I am today and what I will ever be. She has risked herself so that I could get the world to see. She is my candle, my light – my begetter, my divine – I call her ‘Maa’.

Sisters

As a part of the Write Tribe Festival of Words which kickstarts on 1^st September and will go on till September 7, I am writing about the 7 relations in my life, without even one of them my life would lose its meaning. These seven people are very dear to me and I hold them very close.

Sisters -

Unfortunately I am not blessed with a real sister, but I am blessed to be born in joint family where I have three. One is my paternal uncle’s daughter and two others are daughters of my two paternal aunts’. One paternal aunt stays in my own town so that way two of my sisters were always around. But it was the Diwali and summer vacations that I always looked forward to when all we siblings used to come together and have a gala time. We had our days planned well in advance. We used to play cards, dumb shears, and many other indoor games and they were no mug with cricket either. But the best time was our night rides. We used to hop on to our bikes and go around the town and visit the river side and take a long trip on the highway. It was sheer fun and the three were actually the musketeers. When together they were a bundle of latent energy about to burst. They would break into impromptu jigs followed by boisterous laughter for the silliest things they spot while on a ride and that would cringe the passerby. A mere burp or fart sounds would trigger them and they would start laughing raucously, which more often than not would land us in trouble with the offended person. They were a crazy bunch and alongwith us the combination would become lethal. We would get stringent pocket money, which was very little and so we never had much to spend, but that was never a problem. We would enjoy a lot within our limitations as each other’s company would compensate for everything else.

Brother

Brother -

He was gifted to me by parents when I was just four. I am sure when he was born I would have been delighted beyond limits and my happiness would have known no boundaries. I don’t remember it all now as I was all but four. He was and is the jewel of the family being not just the youngest kid but the youngest member of our huge joint family. He was loved, pampered and spoiled as kid but has always been well mannered, obedient and dutiful child.

Grand Mother

Grand Mother - 

Hi Baa!!!(that’s what we gujjus fondly call our granny) I used to shout everyday when I was back from work. Then we would have our long chats, gossips and cribbing sitting on the terrace. That was our daily ritual.

Father

As a part of the Write Tribe Festival of Words which kickstarts today and will go on till September 7, I am writing about the 7 relations in my life, without even one of them my life would lose its meaning. These seven people are very dear to me and I hold them very close.

Father –

Father is a man in relation to his child or children as defined by the dictionary.

But in literal meaning the person giving meaning to this word is way more than just a male parent. For me he is the one who not only gave me life but also thought me living. From petty issues to the cyclonic challenges life has thrown at me, he has guided me through it all. He has stood by me like a rock. He has rallied all his energies around me and had always made sure I have come out safe. For me he is my only hero and he is my role model. Brought up in humble circumstances, from starving to selling fruits and vegetables at fairs he had done it all. But never once did arrogance enter him even after he made it big all by his own.

Earth, Water, Sky

Everything has its own colour,

I always wondered why?

Do the seasons have colour?

I decide to give them my.

March, April, May,

The summer was on its way,

nights had turned shorter,

longer was the day,

Mumbai, Delhi or Kullu,

Everywhere there was loon,

So I choose yellow and blue

Nameless Indians

NAMELESS INDIANS

Food, Clothing and Shelter are the three basic necessities of every person. But there are some unprivileged people for whom there is a fourth necessity beyond this, which is more important and most essential for them to get the other three and i.e. Identity.

Breaking News

As Wikipedia defines Breaking news, also known as a special report or news bulletin, is a current issue that broadcasters feel warrants the interruption of scheduled programming and/or current news in order to report its details. Its use is also assigned to the most significant story of the moment or a story that is being covered live.

The three pillars of Democracy in India are Legislature, Executive, Judiciary and the fourth and most important one is the Press/Media.

My 18^th B’day

Today I turned 18”

Postman was at the door at his usual hour,

There was a letter for me, with anxiety I opened, it read

     “To my dearest son

     collect your new bike keys

     from the address at the back”

Looking heavenwards I thank him, for he had it all planned but his demise

He was so excited; they were meeting after months,

finally she was there, they hugged, greeting & gifts exchanged

he went down on his knees – are u ready? he asked

anxiously looking at her, with bated breath he waited for her to speak,

finally she said - Yes, you are free and he was on cloud nine!!!
