I am participating in A to Z Challenge 2016 where we write 26 posts in a month each day on one word from A to Z
barring Sunday's. Today's word is "Z".
My theme is “Human Characteristics”.
Today I chose “Zen”.
Sprints on veranda
Shameless screaming in schoolyards
Fearless me
When did I lose that?
The zeal of a bee, I had
Blissful used to be
Without distortion
Sans figment, happy again
Zen like want to be
~
KARAN
As children we are fearless of the world
and our only agenda is to be happy. We mingle and get along with anyone and
everyone and never bother about who that person is and which
family/religion/cast/creed so and so forth, s/he comes from. However as we grow
up we tend to forget the ultimate goal in life of being happy and tend to tilt
towards becoming more snobby and selective as a result of which we are illusioned
from the real purpose of life and living.
That is really so true. As we grow older the innocence and happiness quotient keeps going up. The Zen way is so beautiful, finding and savoring little joys in life is what we should try for. Great innings Karan, glad you made it to the end! Congrats :)

Thank you so much Kala :) congratulations to you to, you were awesome as well!!
DeleteAs we get older we have to work harder to continue to seek joy. It's there, we just don't see it as often as we should.

Good poem Karan. I like Zen too. I don't however agree that children are always happy. They're often quite troubled because they don't understand the ways of people, their friends who reject them just as adults reject each other. Children often don't have the Zen and the coping mechanism to shrug and say - it doesn't matter.

DeleteMay not be always, but more often than not children are not really bothered about what others think. They may be a little sad but that's just for a while and then they are always on the go and happy.
