Eight day of this year’s National Poetry Writing Month. Today’s prompt is to write a love poem . . . but the object of
the poem should be inanimate. You can write a love poem to your favorite pen,
the teddy bear you had as a child (and maybe still have), or anything else, so
long as it’s not alive!

sitting under the tuscan sun,
I realize life has become fun
thinking of the prospective time,
it makes me a poet, also make me rhyme
having longed for you so long,
now in the background,
always hums a song
when I see you shine,
I am so happy,
now you are all mine,
I’ll treasure you, protect you,
with all my might,
I’ll not ever let you
away from my sight,
of all the tantrums you keep throwing,
a look at you, still keeps me going
you make me thrill,
also make me frown
all at your will,
with your frame light brown
my life was at standstill,
my happiness was put a seal,
before you came as hansel,
I was once again at wheel,
In you again, with a renewed valor,
I found it in galore
whenever I look at you,
I feel so nice
my cherished possession
you are mine beyond price
you are the one, If you go I’ll weep
close to me, to you I’ll always keep
when no one’s around,
towards me you always bound
when I find you on my wrist left
and with you by my side,
I never feel bereft
